To provide a first-class educational environment for students from across the Pacific region The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ has established the Pacific Eye Institute at Tamavua Hospital, in Suva, Fiji.

There are an estimated 80,000 living in the Pacific with avoidable blindness. To eradicate this blindness, 75 eye surgeons and 300 eye nurses are needed.

By donating to The Fred Hollows NZ's Pacific Eye Institute training initiative, you are helping to train the eye doctors and nurses the Pacific needs. You are also assisting Pacific students to pursue their dreams. Your support helps health workers achieve local eye health education in a culturally familiar and relevant environment that allows for the effective use of their training upon graduation.

It also helps improve eye care standards where they are desperately needed; in the remote communities that are scattered across the Pacific.
